Hello, deviantart friends. I haven 't written a real post here in a while so I figured while I'm distracted (read: focused) enough to write something here I should do it.

I'm on summer vacation now. Eight days ago, I turned twenty one years old. I have yet to be wasted. Go me. My leg is acting up again (old back injury), and I'm still unemployed.

A lot has been going on, hasn't it? We've been losing a lot of celebrities as of late. It's been very unfortunate. And today, all that anyone could talk about was Michael Jackson's funeral. People drove around with their headlights on, a thing I hadn't seen since Princess Diana died.

While I was a fan of the King of Pop's work, and the man himself intrigued me, I could not find myself sitting around a television set today and mourning the loss of this great entertainer.

Sunday night, my grandfather died at the age of 85.

This has pushed all others out of my mind. I find myself paying my respects to the celebrities. And as I read everyone's comments about MJ today on facebook, all I could think about was how great of a man you were, Grandpa. How you are in Heaven (or, the closest thing to it) now and with your mother you loved so much and didn't get to say goodbye to. That you're with all your brothers and sisters, whom you spent your childhood days with.

When you left for the nursing home, Mother gave me your bed and I sleep in it every night. As I lay upon it now, I feel your presence surrounding me. I'm only sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, and that you were all alone.

I have some art to put on here, but I will do that later. Hope everyone is well.
